In the last article, we presented the scalp disorders, as well as the role of nutrition in hair care. In this article we will show you how do we brush our hair in the right way. We will also talk about brushes and their maintenance.
The only way to keep your hair in perfect condition, to remove impurities, to make it supple, shiny, silky and easy to style is to brush it daily, morning and evening. There are many women who, after going to the hairdresser , proud of their curls, do not brush their hair for days, so as not to destroy their hairstyle. It is a big mistake, because daily brushing does not destroy a well-made curl, but makes the hair fit to sit aesthetically.
How do we brush our hair?
Brushing does not mean sticking it to the scalp, as most women do. On the contrary, the movement of the brush must lift the hairs, to detach them from each other, giving volume.
Brushing is practiced from the root of the hair to the extremities, in several times, as follows:
- Brushing will start from the nape of the neck to the extremities. During this operation, the head will be tilted forward, resulting in an influx of blood that also benefits the hair and skin.
- Brush your hair from the left ear to the right and vice versa.
- Make paths with the comb and brush each table upwards, starting from the path to the ends.
- At the end, brush the hair from the forehead to the scalp.
Brushing is much more effective if done in front of an open window. The hair will benefit from such air and sun. After completing this operation you will find that your hair has regained its vitality.
Remember that you must brush your hair carefully, without applying tension to the locks, so as not to damage the hair.
How do we brush long hair without volume?
If you find that your long hair is too close to the head, it has no volume, the reason can only be a poor blood circulation in the scalp region. In this case, we advise you to practice a brush-gymnastics, which results in better blood supply.
- Brush your hair a few times, starting from the nape of the neck to the scalp. All the while holding your head down.
- Raise your head.
- Shake your head a few times, from front to back.
- Now brush your hair in the desired direction. You will find that the hair has gained 50% volume, 100% shine. You will also feel a pleasant sensation. Of course, your skin also benefits from these maneuvers.
Brush and comb
For daily hair care, two natural hair brushes (pig hair) are needed; brushes with synthetic or metallic threads are not indicated, as they injure the scalp and break the hairs. The strands of the brush will be long and rough: the short strands do not penetrate the hair, the brushing in this case being ineffective.
The brush and comb are personal toiletries and should not be borrowed from anyone. In a family, everyone will have their own brush and comb.
It is absolutely necessary that the brushes be washed at least once a week, in lukewarm water, to which are added a few tablespoons of ammonia, or a few tablespoons of baking soda. Then they will be well clarified, wiped and dried. It is very important that after each use the brushes are combed to remove the hairs resulting from brushing and well wiped with 2-3 paper towels. They will be kept in a drawer or in a closed box to avoid storing dust. Brush cleaning means cleaning the hair. By brushing with a dirty brush, impurities penetrate the scalp.
The comb is used for styling. Hard materials with sparse teeth are recommended. The comb is often used only in special cases. To clean the hair and scalp of dandruff and dirt, we have brushes, water, shampoo and lotions. Wash the comb well, twice a week, with soap and water, using a clean nail brush.
In the next article we will talk about hair washing.
