Lately, it’s getting harder to get the whole family at the table. The different program, the convenience of throwing you in the sofa with your food dish while you look at your favorite series, the e-mail that you send on the last hundred meters. But we forget the importance of spending quality time with loved ones. How long have you not gathered all your family at the table, enjoy a healthy home-cooked dinner and the comfort of your home?

Here are some ideas that will bring family to the table, and bring smiles and good will:

1. Set up a program

Whether you choose, to dine once a month, at the end of the week or every day at a particular time, it is important to keep up with this program. Be careful to respect the program and the needs of each family member. Do not forget that you have to take into account the cooking time!

2. The menu

Make the menu in advance. Involve your loved ones too. Ask them to choose from a list of options, so you will involve the whole family and it will be easier for you if you organize yourself early. You can also choose thematic days such as Saturday’s pancakes or Italian evenings! Such days will be expected with great enthusiasm. Find unique recipes, the internet is full of tasty and creative ideas.

3. Cook in the family

Engage your loved ones in preparing your meal. The little ones will feel important, plus they will learn healthy habits that you will even show them. What to say about how excited they will be to eat something they have prepared for themselves. Arrange the meal together! Try as far as possible that everything looks very good. This will bring a special atmosphere that will delight the whole family.

4. Keep a joyful atmosphere

A family reuniting at the table, talking in a calm tone, appreciating and praising each other increases the appetite. Dinner is a perfect opportunity to gather family and spend quality time.

There is no talk at the table? You may violate this rule at such times. There are even games that will keep a pleasant atmosphere and encourage the conversation at the table. Here are some of them:

  • End the story

Someone at the table will start a story, and then, in turn, each participant will add something, a simple phrase, or why not, even a whole narrative moment. As the table approaches the end, try to find an end for the story. This game will bring you lots of smiles and your family dinner will turn into a pleasant memory.

  • Review of the day

Each member of the family tells, in turn, what he did during the day. That sounds pretty trivial, right? BUT, let’s complicate things a little! Choose in advance a letter that no one is allowed to use at the beginning of the word. For example, if we chose not to use the letter “G”, we will not be able to use the words “good”, “girl”, “green” or any other word that begins with this letter. This game is a great exercise for enriching the vocabulary, and it is also extremely funny.

  • Talk without breaks

That will surely bring you laughter and good pleasure. How to play? It’s very simple: every participant has to talk for 30 seconds, spontaneously, without getting ready in advance. The subject? Here comes the funny part. The subject is not known in advance, it will be chosen by another player. The speaker is not allowed to pause longer than 2 seconds and is not allowed to say “aaaa …”. Topics can be chosen from any field, from very permissive (like “apples”) to very restrictive (such as “The Last Performing Theater”).
