Legend has it that the korean Dr. Kombu came to the palace, and brought a tasty beverage with him, made from a miraculous mushroom. Miraculous, because the emperor not only cured himself as a miracle, but also felt younger and more vigorous than ever. Excited, he named the fungus after the name of the doctor who brought it: Kombucha.
