Hey! Right now I came back from the Martyrs Festival(ro: Festivalul Mucenicilor) and I wanted to share with you my experience!
In the Romanian folklore it is said that on March 9th, the Fire of the Martyrs, burns the old season to bring the new one to life. On this occasion, the housewives mingle with mucenici (Romanian traditional dish) and the most daring men respect the tradition of the 40 glasses of wine.
Let’s celebrate how we know better this festival! With Muntenia and Moldavian mucenici! From the dawn, the well-behaved housewives are working hard and migrating to get the tastiest and most appealing mucenici.
It is a place for all greedy people, because our housewives have prepared over 5000 portions of Muntenia mucenici. In their preparation, not less than 50 kg of flour, 3 kg of nuts, 10 kg of honey and as much sugar, 20 kg of lemons and 2 kg of cinnamon will be used.
Are not you a Muntenia mucenici? Then find out that 20,000 Moldovan mucenici are waiting for you, in whose composition entered, hundreds of kilograms of flour, sugar, tens of liters of oil and hundreds of liters of milk, 25 kg of butter, hundreds of eggs and no less 200 kg of nuts, 80 kg of honey and 5 kg of lemons.
The fair is about mucenici and tradition. Romanian dishes, cooked by skilled chefs, from sausages, bulz and mici to cozonac and poale-n brau, will not miss this fair.
The greatest surprise that awaits you is the “Reel of the mucenici”. A chain of mucenici in the form of man who will dance and rejoice at the most interesting reel in history !!
