Quince jam

I love autumn for the warm colors of the leaves and the moist smell of the earth, for the pale sun during the day and the cool mornings, for the rich harvests and fruit-filled trees.

I love autumn for the warm colors of the leaves and the moist smell of the earth, for the pale sun during the day and the cool mornings, for the rich harvests and fruit-filled trees. And the quinces are by far the most beautiful, tasty and aromatic symbol of autumn. That’s why I have prepared for you a delicious quince jam recipe, which will satisfy the wishes of the gourmets.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg quinces cut into cubes or scrapers;
  • 1 kg sugar;
  • 250 ml of water;
  • the juice from half a lemon;
  • optionally a hand with walnut core.

Method of preparation:

Quinces are washed, cleaned and scraped on a large scraper, or cut into small cubes (to get one kg). In a saucepan put 1 kg of sugar and 250 ml of water, and let them simmer until the sugar has melted. The syrup is boiled until it binds (yarn sample). When the syrup is almost tied, add quinces. After boiling for a few minutes add lemon juice. Continue boiling, checking the final point by periodically taking syrup samples. Optionally, you can add a hand with coarse walnuts. When the boiling is finished, the jam is put in clean jars.

Bring sugar and water to a boil.

If you move fast, first put the syrup on the boil, and during this time cut the quince. This way the quinces will not rust.

I chose to make both variants, and the quince jam cut into cubes, and given on the large grater.

Check to see if the syrup has been tied using the yarn sample (take a drop of syrup between your fingers, and if a thread of no more than one cm is formed, the syrup is tied).

Add quince and boil the jam for a few minutes.

Add lemon juice and continue boiling.

When the jam is almost ready, (regularly take syrup samples on a plate, and if the syrup is tied it means your jam is ready) you can add a hand of nuts as you prefer.

Put the jam in clean jars.

Now you can enjoy the sweet and aromatic taste of quince jam. Scented and golden in color, this jam is the perfect filling for pancakes, or you can enjoy its unique taste on a slice of fresh bread with butter.

This quince jam recipe is quick and easy. In addition, the jam has a beautiful golden color, which sings the autumn symphony. It is absolutely delicious and you can use it as a filling for various cakes.
